Auto-Behavio

In Auto-Behavior, identity has moved beyond formation into automation. What was once enacted, then repeated, now proceeds with diminishing reference to conscious choice. The work considers the point at which the self becomes procedural, when learned patterns continue to operate long after the will that initiated them has receded. Behaviour persists not because it is chosen anew, but because it has become embedded. The painting frames habit as a kind of inheritance generated by the subject and then imposed back upon it. What appears as personality is revealed as momentum.
